Cromarty Harbour - badly aimed floodlights
This is a very revealing photo taken of the asymmetric floodlights sited around the Cromarty Boat Club storage compound. This is the same floodlight tower as shown in picture #3. Last night the heavy snowfall illustrated just how badly aimed these floodlights really are. Fully 60% of the light beam shines over the compound and harbour - a waste of power as well as being very dazzling to pedestrians and boat users. The Harbour Trust has agreed to adjust these lights correctly, but it'll have to wait until further funding is available.

In 2005 I asked that these lights be angled downwards. Cromarty Harbour Trust adjusted these lights downwards late 2006 so that they have reduced glare considerably, and provide better lighting down on the ground. Well done Cromarty Harbour Trust.
They're not ideal - one is still tilted at about 20 degrees, which is really a bit too high. Much better, though. Well done Cromarty harbour Trust.
