Skyglow from University of Leicester Observatories

See also image number 59.

The view from the University of Leicester Observatories, looking towards Leicester town centre 2.5 miles away. The bad, undirected lighting to the left of the image, is from one of the University halls of residences. Yes - the University carelessly shines lights onto their own observatories!
Needless to say, few stars are visible from this site with the unaided eye.

What a joke. This also makes astronomers and light campaigners look stupid and hypocritical. Someone there should point this out to the University.
