Skyglow from University of Leicester Observatory
This is the view from the University of Leicester Observatory, 2.5 miles to the south-east of Leicester, and looking towards Leicester City Centre. Only the brightest stars are visible through this smog to the unaided eye.
Unfortunately, the University Estates department removed the hedge that ran parallel to the road, which did act as a wonderful car headlight shield. They also installed undirected sport floodlighting to the south, making this view the darker direction when the floodlights are on!
