Bad 'neighbour unfriendly' Garden lighting

My next door neighbours but one just installed this monstrosity in their garden. Not only is it incredibly bright but it is positioned to shine directly over the fence straight onto my observing area. See also [ picture #57 ]. It is completely unshielded as you can see. They have it on nearly every night and only turn it off if I ask them to do so. They think I'm slightly nutty anyway observing the sky and what makes people these days want to light up their gardens and other peoples in such an anti-social way. Even if I wasn't an astronomer I'd be unhappy about someone else shining their light all over my property. Definitely a symptom of modern day livng I think. That's my moan over, anyway! Thanks.

In my case I would use a good catapult or air pistol and S...f the consiquences. Either that or pinch the Bugger during the night and dump it a few miles away.

A pair of step ladders and a can of black spray paint applied liberally to the side of the lights facing your garden would help in my opinion...

Have you thought of putting in a couple of 7 foot poles and battens on your side of the fence to shield your garden?
