Allans of Gillock - wasteful daytime lighting

Excellent siting of well designed full cut-off floodlight above store entrance in Finstown, Orkney. Unfortunately, judging by the 8 days I recently spent in the area, this light is left on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even at night it serves little purpose as no-one appears to be working there in the evenings, and the front of the building is already well enough lit by streetlights to enable intruders to be seen and reported. In daytime its being switched on is simply a waste of money and energy, and offensive to the eyes.
==========
UPDATE 11/8/2005
I contacted this company's head office by email about this issue. They responded within 2 days with a very courteous email stating that the light had been left on accidentally whilst the branch manager was on holiday, that they too were keen to preserve the natural environment of Orkney, and that they would ensure that he corrected this. A very positive and encouraging outcome, and a credit to Allans of Gillock.
