Misaligned Asymmetric Floodlights in Cardiff
40 misaligned Asymmetric Floodlights at the Powerleague 5-a-side Football site at Whitchurch High School, Cardiff.
This installation is alongside the very busy crossroads on the A470, Manor Way, Cardiff and adjacent to several blocks of 3 story apartments.
The lights are mounted 8 metres from the floor and are inline with the centre of the top floor apartment's windows. You can read a book from the light that is shining into the rooms.
Over 2000 people objected to this Planning Application but the wonderful Cardiff Council saw fit to approve it.
The local residents, the odd Councillor, and a Welsh Assembly Member have spent 5 months trying to get the lighting specifications from Cardiff Council Planning Department who approved this installation.
Now that we have it, the Cardiff Council Planning Officers, (a law unto themselves), refuse to believe that the lights are not set correctly. Another good example of a bad Example from Cardiff Council.
The fight goes on via the Public Service Ombudsman. We shall keep you updated.
